She passed!!!

IMG_3333

Yes, Kasy passed the test to get her learner's permit today - yeah!!!!!!!! Now she can start driving around with either Mitch or I in the car. Have I let her drive yet? No! Mitch will be the lucky person to do that at first. Hopefully he will get home early enough for her to drive tonight. I'm sure she can get some experience this weekend as well.

Here are few items that I have stitched lately. The first two are from awhile ago, but I'm just now getting around to posting them. The 3rd one I just finished yesterday.

June 29, 2008

So, it's been almost a month since I've posted. June has been a very busy month!!! Here is what we have been up to:

  • Vacation to Florida - a couple of days at the Ritz in Sarasota; Mitch took the kids to Disney for a few days; I visited with a friend in Jacksonville for a few days; ended the week with Mitch's 20 year reunion.
  • Brennan went to day camp.
  • Peyton went to his first away camp for this summer - he has two more to go!
  • Kasy did a 2 week counselor intern at the camp that the boys were at.
  • Brennan had a great week of VBS at a church near our home.

Yes, it's been busy, but that is just the beginning of our summer. There is lots more to come! Kasy starts driver's ed tomorrow and will have that for 2 hours each day for 3 weeks. Then, she has 2 weeks of soccer camps after that.

Peyton has football camp next week, an away camp the next week, another mini-football camp and then another away camp.

Brennan has a camp at local church in a couple of weeks, then a soccer camp, then an away camp with Peyton in August.

The only week we don't have a camp is the week before school, but that will be busy as well. Peyton will be having football practice at school, Kasy will probably have soccer practice and we will have orientations at school as well.

Besides trying to keep up with who is supposed to be where, I am trying to keep up with the house and laundry and sneak in some stitching and scrapbooking. I'm already thinking that I will be glad when school starts back up for things to slow down. Although it probably won't with Peyton and Kasy playing sports at school.

So, if I don't keep up my blog as much as I wish I could, please understand and say a prayer for me!

Today was the last day of school! Here is Kasy with her homeroom teacher. Look how much talller she is than her teacher! And, her teacher even has on high heels.

I've been trying to update my blog with some new layouts I did this week, but everytime I go to upload images, the system locks up. I have contacted typepad to see what they can do to fix the problem. They made some changes to the site this week, so I think it has something to do with that. As soon as I can figure it out, I'll post them. However, I did add one of the layouts to the 'My Layouts' list, which I believe is on the left side of your screen. It's called 'Ruby's First Haircut.'

Finally got my layouts scanned...

I've been back into scrapbooking the past couple of weeks. After not having done anything for months, it feels good to get back into it. I have some layouts to share and will try to get those scanned in a little bit. For now, this is display I made for the kids' spring pictures from school.

On Mother's Day, I had no idea, but Mitch took a picture of me and Brennan laying out. I had to crop it down so you wouldn't be shocked at me in a bathing suit, but once I did, the picture is pretty cute. And, if you are wondering, that's a mimosa in my hand.

I was thinking about our day to day activities today. Usually, Mitch goes to work, the kids go to school, I run errands and do things around home. Besides that, what else do we do? I decided to take some pictures of the kids today doing their after school activities at home. This is what I got when I got out my camera.

Kasy was baking brownies.

Peyton was playing Wii.

Brennan was eating a can of Raviolios.

And then I started to think about our pets. So, I took pictures of what they were doing as well.

Jack was sleeping on the folded clothes on the bed. He always does this!

Ruby was sleeping on her chair in the rear corner of the family room.

And, Taco was begging for Brennan's food.

Nothing too exciting, but these are just some of the things that make up our lives. Also, I saw this  on the Yahoo news today. I guess I my pretend salary is $117,000.

Well, the heat is finally hitting us here in South Texas. It was 92 yesterday and I think it's expected to reach that again. Good thing is, the boys are starting to swim. Our pool temp is 79, but will probably be warmer this afternoon. It won't be too long before I get in the pool as well.

I had so much fun last night - went to Bunco for the first time. It was a blast and I won 2 items! My Stampin' Up! Demonstrator put this group together, so all the prizes are scrapbooking and stamping related - yeah!!!! Now I know why so many women love their Bunco nights.

Other good news - I have lost 3.5 pounds this week for a total of 27.3 pounds lost so far. I am more than halfway to my goal - another yeah!!!!!
